Whangaparaoa College
Whangaparoa College is a secondary school located in Stanmore Bay, Auckland's North Shore. It was established in 2005 as a result in a merger with Hibiscus Coast Intermediate. Current enrollment is approximately 1,200 students. 24-7 YouthWork started in the school in 2006. Currently there are three Youth Workers from Coast Youth Community Trust in the school.

Favourite Movie?
Right now all my favs are fighting for a mention so it would be rough to give one credit without acknowledging the rest. So ill stick with genres. Hit me with some comedy, romance, action or plain out cheese and ill be happy. Movies tend to move me to tears on a regular basis...perhaps its because I identify with the characters.... no asking why I cried in finding nemo then...3 times.

I've been doing the biz since 2006...and loving it!
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I love connecting with young people. Their so real, unique, vibrant, energized & cheeky....sounds like good company if you ask me.
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
I'm all about any opportunity that allows me to help young people see their potential. Their potential for love, for freedom, for joy,for life in its fullness.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people? Name:
I consider myself rather profound so this is just one of the pieces of advice I have to give :Its good to laugh at yourself. That way when the world's not laughing you can still bask in a good old chuckle.

Your value does not rest in someone elses hand, your are valuable because He made you, and He doesn't make mistakes.

I started last year in the 4th term just volunteering every now and then. Didn’t start officially till the 1st term of 2007
What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
The ability to make a difference in young peoples lives. To be a part of their decision making, and encourage them in what can be a tough time in life. Also that we can make school enjoyable, or at least tolerable haha
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
I’ve worked with young people through camps and programs since I was 14, all voluntary. So the chance to still do what I love and get paid for it wasn’t a hard decision.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people? 24-7 Local Agency
Cool kids wear lids
Be cool, stay in school
Don’t do drugs
But seriously, choose your path wisely, because you only get to walk it once
