Nayland College


Nayland High is a secondary school located in the suburb of Stoke, Nelson. It was established in 1966 and current enrollment is approximately 1,450 students. 24-7 YouthWork started in the school in 2010. Currently there are two Youth Workers from Annesbrook Church in the school.

Started in 2010

What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
Just being around young people!! They are fun, entertaining, conversational (most of the time) and incredibly interesting. It is such a privilege to be working alongside so many amazing people!!
Young people are ridiculously cool human beings!!

What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
I have a passion for the young people of our generation. Being involved in young peoples lives, building strong relationships and in the process, serving the wider community is an opportunity I wouldn’t want to miss any day. This generation is rising into their purpose and I want to be part of that!!!!

What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Love life- pursue your dreams. Ignore any put-down’s and negativity and hold tight to words of encouragement and believe

Getting paid for Intervals and Lunch

Going back to school seemed like a better option than finding a job with old people.
