Branston Intermediate
Branston was established in 1971 and is located in the west side suburbs of Christchurch. It currently has 230 students and is a decile 3 school. 24-7 YouthWork started in the school in 2009. Being part of a school family, helping it and the young people grow to reach the goals they have set.
To use my gifts/skills to walk beside,support and encourage young people in good ole Hornby (ye ha!!)
Yup got two of these!! (1) Don’t reverse out of driveways, you may run over an old lady in a motorized cart. (2) Lie on your back outside on a starry night,put your hands behind your head then say aloud ”show me THE BIG PICTURE? ”

What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I love hanging out and connecting with young people. Sounds cliché but it’s true! I love learning from them and seeing their real potential.
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
Aside from the fact that it is part of my job here at Hornby... I love the fact that I might be of influence and can be a part of young people’s lives as they go through school and grow as individuals.
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Stick at it! Perseverance is the key. To get to the mountain top we must go through a valley.
