Hornby High School
Hornby High is a secondary school located in the suburb of Hornby, Christchurch. It was established in 1975 and current enrollment is approximately 500 students. 24-7 YouthWork started in the school in 2003. What do you love about being a 24-7 Youth Worker?
I love being able to be involved in seeing what the young people achieve. I love to be a part of
what they strive for and just hanging out building relationships is mint az!!
I really see the value in having someone as a role model to look up to when I was at school.
I wanted to get involved to help the young people be motivated through their school life, I know for me it was a mish!!
Work with what you have, rather than what you want.

Hanging out with young people and doing life with them...seeing them grow and develop into legends!
What was your reason for getting into 24-7 Youth Work?
It came along with my job at Hornby church. But i am stoked to be a part of a team that is involved in our local high school, supporting and encouraging young people and being able to serve in whatever way we can!
What would be your greatest piece of advice to young people?
Recycle and reuse... save the world and your money!

Pretty much, the opportunity to reach into the lives of young people. And going back to school, but not having to do the work..that's pretty sweet.
The huge-as pay that you get being a youth worker!.. Yeah right. Basically to be a positive role model to young people and to make High School a place where young people feel accepted.
Don't look behind you and brush your teeth, brush them good n hard :)
